Here are some simple ways to use worm castings in your garden and with houseplants:

1. **Soil Amendment**: Mix worm castings into your garden soil or potting mix (about 20-30% worm castings to 70-80% soil). This improves soil structure, enhances aeration, and promotes healthy root development.

2. **Top Dressing**: Sprinkle a thin layer of worm castings on top of the soil around your plants (both in the garden and in pots). This helps add nutrients over time as it breaks down.

3. **Liquid Fertilizer (Worm Tea)**: Create a nutrient-rich liquid fertilizer by steeping worm castings in water (about 1 cup of castings to 1 gallon of water). Let it sit for 24-48 hours, strain, and use to water your plants. This is great for a quick nutrient boost!

4. **Seed Starting**: Mix worm castings with your seed-starting mix to give young plants a strong nutrient foundation from the very start.

5. **Compost Boost**: Add worm castings to your compost bin to help speed up decomposition and introduce beneficial microbes to enhance the composting process.
